Mint Hill held onto larger lots while much of Mecklenburg County did not, and that shows up as detached garages, pole barns and workshops behind the houses. Those buildings have the door problems that suburban attached garages do not.
Wider and taller openings. Doors that were hung by whoever built the building. Springs sized by eye. And a door that cycles a lot more than a house door does because the shop is where somebody actually works.
That is normal work here. The fix is usually the right spring for the door's real weight, commercial grade rollers and hinges instead of residential ones, and a track that is genuinely plumb rather than close enough.
Gates on wooded lots
Long driveways under a hardwood canopy produce a specific set of gate faults. Leaf litter fills a slide track. Roots move a swing gate post. Falling limbs take out photo eyes and safety edges. And squirrels do real damage to wiring runs.
The diagnosis starts the same way it always does. Release the operator, move the gate by hand, and see whether the problem is in the gate or in the electronics. That one test saves a lot of guesswork.
Safety devices matter more on a wooded lot than people expect, because visibility down the drive is poor. Photo eyes across the opening, a safety edge on the leading edge, and a loop in the drive so the gate cannot close on a car sitting under it.

I have been using Entrance Masters for almost 2 years, and from the first encounter the service has been absolutely fantastic. I had been having the worst issues with my garage since the recent purchase of my home, and they have been there every step of the way working to try to figure out the issue. Ricky tried every cost effective option he could before just saying you need to replace the motor, which most companies would not have. The motor was replaced a week ago along with some other updates and my garage closes and opens as it should and it is so smooth and quiet now.

He quickly scheduled his tech to come out and within a couple of hours he had our gate working again. He also replaced sensors on a garage door that had not been working properly for a couple of years. Once Ricky was back in town he scheduled to come back and button up a couple of loose ends and bring us some much needed clickers for the gate. Fantastic experience, excellent communication, skilled workmanship, extremely reasonable pricing.
